Send A Kid To Camp

Send a Kid to Camp is a ministry of HFMC designed to help families, who may not be able to afford to send their children to camp, so their children and youth can attend Wesley Acres FM camp or Echo FM Youth Camp.

For Wesley Acres there is a three way partnership to financially support families. HFMC will pay one third, Wesley Acres SAKTK program will pay one third and the family is asked to pay one third of the camp cost for their child.  For Echo Lake, HFMC would pay one third and the family would pay two thirds.

Applications and supporting policy statements are available for this ministry through contacting the church office.

CAP (Community Assistance Program)

HFMC has set aside some resources to help people within our catchment area during those times of unexpected financial challenge. Working independently or in conjunction with Southern Frontenac Community Services we want to lend a hand during some of those stressful times. Find out more here.

Tearfund

Tearfund Canada is a non-profit organization that wants to see people freed from poverty, living transformed lives, and reaching their God-given potential. They partner with 350 church based organizations around the world in 50 countries.

By partnering with Tearfund, we help address the root causes of poverty that lie beneath surface needs. Because their whole focus is on restoring broken relationships – with God, within families and communities, and with creation – their goal is to break the cycle of poverty so that we’re not needed anymore. Through their focus on local partnerships, they can create lasting change that is efficient, effective, and local-friendly. Find out more details at tearfund.ca

Dominican Ministries

Dominican Ministries is a partnership ministry with our FM churches in the Dominican. Our own BJ Calver has been a volunteer mission worker in the DR for over 25 years.

This connection led to us partnering with them to help build churches in poverty stricken areas, where they were needed, with added community support.

We have been helping families rebuild or repair damaged homes, supply shoes & socks for children for school, as well as vitamins, food and medicines when the needs were brought to us.

A much needed van was purchased for a church to transport people to church, medical appointments or any other needs for transporting.

When the needs come to us we try to respond as we are able.

Mission Aviation Fellowship

Whether it’s transporting relief supplies to a refugee camp, or flying doctors to a remote village, MAF’s “Wings of Love” bring more than just tools and supplies to a hurting world – they bring the Gospel of God’s love in a tangible way.

Their airplanes are the only way that thousands of people living in remote jungles, desert areas, and mountainous regions can receive the practical help they need in times of emergency, or even just to make a better life for themselves and their children.

They offer help, hope, and healing for the Isolated.  Find out more at mafc.org

Haiti Food Fund

Through the International Child Care Ministries (ICCM) of the Free Methodist Church in Canada we participate in donating to the Haiti Food Fund.

The global food crisis has hit Haiti very hard. Your contributions will enable us to continue to help feed the 20,000+ students attending the 53 schools we operate in Haiti. For as little as 33 cents a day per child you can make a difference.

Emergency Relief Needs

Sometimes in life there are world crisis which have a significant impact of each of us. HFMC wants to be a church that responds to those needs. Whether it is giving to the Bishop’s Relief fund to help in the Ukraine, the Canadian Red Cross to bring relief to parts of Africa, or a Compassion offering to help with Haiti’s Hurricane relief, we want to extend the love of Christ through the resources He has given.
