Total structure lost: Building Fire in Verona apartment complex

The fire broke out in the McMullen Manor apartment building, which is owned and operated by Kingston Frontenac Housing Corporation, just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021. South Frontenac Fire and Rescue and Frontenac Paramedic Services responded to the blaze, which has displaced all residents of the building.

According to the Township of South Frontenac, there was no loss of life as a result of the fire, however, one resident was admitted to Kingston General Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the fire.  The fire has resulted a total structure loss, with all units in the building affected.

The Harrowsmith Church is looking at how we may be able to assist through our Community Assistance Program.  We are asking those individuals, who would also like to help to contact either Mary Lynn or Scott at the Kingston and Frontenac Housing Corporation: (613)546-5591 ext. 1551 or 1560.  The Frontenac Housing is overseeing the wellbeing of each of the individuals who have lost their housing and possessions.

Listed below are the weekly events  that were happening prior to the December-January provincial lockdown and closing of the church building.

*please note – Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting is continuing each week by Zoom.  If you would like to be a part, just email us at office@hfmc.ca and we will send you a link.
